Bio-and-circular-economy-initiatives

Transnational projects on bio- and circular economy funded by the current and earlier Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programmes are highlighted in the recent article published by the Baltic institute of Finland. They are taken as inspiring examples and good practices in the framework of the Smart Specialisation approaches.

As bioeconomy and circular economy are among top priorities in Smart Specialisation Strategies (S3) the article stresses the relevance and actuality of the actions demonstrated in the selected projects, specifically in RDI2Club, BSR Stars S3 and BSR S3 Ecosystem Platform. Thanks to intense transnational collaboration, needs-based solutions and integrated collaborative approaches the projects can serve as example of what can be jointly generated. The way the transnational projects replicate their practices and spread knowledge is important for continuity and broader awareness.

The article underlines the projects´ tangible achievements with the potential to reinforce a continued transnational cooperation and strong commitments towards ambitions on greening economy.
