InnoCAPE

The InnoCAPE project designs a cooperation model to develop a digital innovation ecosystem in the Baltic Sea region by exploiting the potential of the continuous digitalisation of value chains called Industry 4.0. The project helps public authorities create favourable conditions for digital innovation hubs (DIHs) that serve as intermediary bodies bringing together Research & Development and industry into digital industrial platforms. By bridging existing gaps, DIHs can efficiently implement Industry 4.0 policies, contribute to a better connected digital single market, and improve competitiveness of the region.

The road of Digitalisation

The InnoCAPE project enhances the capacity of digital innovation hubs (DIHs) in the Baltic Sea region, which accelerate the implementation of digitalisation strategies and policies designed by public authorities. InnoCAPE brings together public authorities from Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Sweden, Finland and Norway. They all act together to fill gaps in the existing knowledge on digital innovation hubs, to develop measures for their sustainability and to design and implement national digitalisation policies by using digital innovation hubs as public enablers.

Our plan

The project enables new partnerships among Baltic and Scandinavian organisations. Working together allows to make a better use of Horizon2020 funds with Baltic countries on board. A common digital maturity assessment tool helps to benchmark and identify areas of intervention for successful digitalisation. Exchanging good practices, mapping digitalisation competencies and piloting projects with support of enterprises narrows the digital environment gap between Baltics and Scandinavia. Moreover, such cooperation contributes to the implementation of the EUBSR strategy and its action plan.
