Does your project idea fit one of seven Programme thematic objectives?

Projects have to fit into one of the Programme objectives under thematic priorities ‘Innovative societies’, ‘Water-smart societies’ and ‘Climate-neutral societies’.

Can your project idea bring a tangible change to improve the situation in the Baltic Sea region in a selected topic within up to 36 months of implementation time?

Duration of the implementation time in core project is up to 36 months, whereas in small projects: up to 24 months.

Is your organisation a legal entity type listed by the Programme? 

The Programme differentiates between the following types of partners:

Business support organisation
Education/training centre and school
Higher education and research institution
Hospital and medical centre
Infrastructure and public service provider
Interest group 
Large enterprise 
Local public authority 
Regional public authority 
National public authority 
Sectoral agency
Small and medium enterprise

Can you secure your own financial contribution and pre-finance project activities?

Project partners have to provide their own contribution to receive Programme co-financing.
Partners from Denmark, Finland, Germany, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland are entitled to receive up to 80% ERDF co-financing.
Partners from Norway will receive up to 50% co-financing from Norwegian national funding.
Co-financing for partners from Russia and Belarus will depend on the financing agreement.
