Green Silver Age Mobility
In the Baltic Sea Region many cities are introducing green urban mobility solutions. Senior citizens, however, often remain reluctant towards these alternatives. This challenge targeted by the GreenSAM project concerns almost all cities in the BSR and becomes even more important in the context of ageing societies throughout Europe. Jointly, eight project partners address three specific mobility challenges:
The overall aim of the GreenSAM project is to increase the acceptance of eco-friendly mobility services among senior citizens. Therefore, the project develops a toolbox with guidance for improved participation of elderly citizens in green urban mobility solutions. Furthermore, model solutions that can help to increase the share of silver agers in green mobility modes will be developed and evaluated. More detailed, the project goals are:
The transnational dissemination of results is an important aspect of the project, too. The dissemination strategy includes the exchange with seven Follower Cities: Gothenburg and Växjö /Sweden, Oslo /Norway, Tampere/Finland, Vilnius/Lithuania, Gdynia/Poland, St. Petersburg/Russia.
